Infighting-Hit Hry Unit To Go On 5-Day Tour

The warring leaders of Haryana Congress will travel across the state on a bus for five days to overcome their differences. The Congress’s election coordination committee for Haryana met for the first time at the party headquarters in New Delhi on Tuesday. In the meeting, the panel decided it will start the “bus yatra”, which will include all 20 leaders in the committee, from Faridabad on March 26. The tour will go on till March 30.

The Haryana Congress is divided in rival factions headed by former CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda, state unit chief Ashok Tanwar, senior leader Kumari Selja, Adampur MLA Kuldeep Bishnoi and Congress legislature party leader Kiran Choudhry. All five are in the panel. Of them, Adampur MLA Bishnoi missed the meeting. A source said he had to attend a family function.

The party is yet to announce the itinerary of the tour.

The Congress incharge for Haryana, Gulam Nabi Azad, too attended the meeting. Two senior leaders — Congress communication head Randeep Surjewala and former MP Navin Jindal — left the meeting early on account of appointment with doctors. Till the filing of this report, the Congress did not given an official justification for Bishnoi’s absence
