Tata Sons, promoter of the Tata Group companies, announced yesterday that it has ended association with adman and brand consultant Suhel Seth following allegations of sexual misconduct by several women. A company spokesperson said that Seth’s firm Counselage’s contract with Tata Sons ends on November 30, and it was “not likely to be renewed”. The announcement comes nine days after Mumbai Mirror reported that the Tata Group was reconsidering its association with Seth after several women, including model and actress Diandra Soares, accused him of sexual misconduct as part of the #MeToo movement. The spokesperson said that Tata Group had stopped working with Seth immediately after the allegations had surfaced. Seth was not available for comment.

Seth had worked closely with the Tata Group management after crisis hit one of the most trusted corporate brands in the country in the wake of abrupt sacking of then Tata Sons chairman Cyrus Mistry in 2016.

While the Tata Group is the only corporate house to have officially announced disassociation with Seth, the other companies Seth has worked with, such as Mahindra & Mahindra, Coca-Cola and JSW have also distanced themselves from him, saying that he no longer consults with them or has not done so in many years.

Mirror also contacted Reliance Industries Limited and GMR regarding the status of their association with Seth but there was no response.
