1 I’m a 21-year-old man and my girlfriend is 20. We had unprotected sex on the fourth day of her period. The period ended on the fifth day. Now, five days after we have had sex, she feels like vomiting and is very unwell. Is it possible that she is pregnant? How can we be absolutely certain that she is not pregnant?

The fifth day is very close to her day of ovulation so pregnancy is possible. Visit a gynaecologist to investigate the matter and take further action.

2 I had unprotected sex with a bar dancer. I learnt that she has a daughter. I enquired with her if she has any infections and she said that she doesn’t. After that encounter, I’ve been worrying about contracting infections. I found a swelling under my arm a day after that encounter. I am to meet my spouse within a month. Which HIV and STD tests I should get so that I don’t pass them on to my partner? Also, how authentic are these tests? I suffer from psoriasis and diabetes.

It was foolish of you to take such a risk. Take the test for syphilis and rapid test HIV. You could also wait five months and take the test then.
