Urinating in public costs UT cop his job
CHANDIGARH: A sub-inspector posted with the UT police security wing has effectively lost his job for urinating in public.

A video that was shared widely on WhatsApp on Friday showed the cop, who appeared to be intoxicated, taking a whizz on the roadside in Sector 41D, even when a public toilet was available in the market.

When the onlookers started making a video, he started to walk away from the camera.

Police said on examining the video and inquiring on the spot, it was found the incident took place on Friday and the cop was identified. He was on extension till October 31, 2019, after retirement.

Police, however, didn’t divulge his name.

Besides ordering departmental inquiry against him, the department withdrew his extension as well on rank promotion (ORP). His rank has been reverted to assistant sub-inspector (ASI).

A case under Section 294 (obscene acts) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has also been registered at the Sector 39 police station on the complaint of an onlooker
