With his son failing to get a lead even from the family’s pocket borough Adampur, Kuldeep Bishnoi got emotional while addressing a meeting of party workers on Friday. Speaking in Adampur, Kuldeep spoke repeatedly about the legacy of his father former CM Bhajan Lal while talking about defeat of his son Bhavya Bishnoi and hoped that situation would be different in the state assembly elections.

Even as a video of Kuldeep’s speech went viral on social media, a press release issued by his office also described the environment of the meeting as sombre. The press release pointed out that Kuldeep had called a meeting of his political workers in Adampur grain market “after the first defeat of a Bhajan Lal’s family member from Adampur assembly”. It said that workers also looked emotional and that the pain of defeat was clearly visible on Kuldeep Bishnoi’s face. Kuldeep said that a person (BJP candidate) who did not know the name of the villages of segment and had never visited won the election from Lal’s house then it was not a defeat of just Bhavya Bishnoi but the whole “Adampur family”.

He said that he was not torn over the defeat in the parliamentary polls because every this this time became secondary before the Modi wave but it was sad that Bhavya lost ground here. He added that during the last two years he was able to visit Adampur less frequently due to health issues but Renuka and Bhavya were among the people continuously.

“Giving jobs, canal water, school, college, university, hospital, water works in villages, dharamshalas...every brick here has impression of Bhajan Lal. This election was affected by the BJP’s misleading and false propaganda, but in the coming assembly elections, people of Adampur will unite and strengthen Kuldeep Bishnoi,” he said .

Kuldeep also announced to discuss the strategy for assembly polls, slated for later this year, on Lal’s death anniversary on June 3. He, however, did not clarify whether he would contest himself to retain his Adampur seat or again seek the Congress ticket for his son Bhavya.
