A day after the distribution of ticket in all 20 wards, anger prevails among the BJP leaders and workers in four wards. Sources said several leaders may quit the party over ticket distribution to turncoats.
The agitated workers and leaders claim the non-performing and turncoats have been given tickets by ignoring dedicated workers, leading to resentment.

Nittu Kakkar, who was a ticket aspirant from Ward No. 13, opened a front against the party and raised questions over the ticket distribution. “The party has ignored the dedicated workers and given ticket to non-performing workers in various wards,” he said.

Kakkar even hinted to contest as an independent and said, “I will consult my supporters to decide the future course of action. If they ask me, I will contest from this ward,” said Kakkar. The party has fielded Vijay Singla from the ward.

A similar situation prevails among party workers in Ward Nos. 8, 17 and 20. In Ward No. 8, Megha Bhandari has been preferred over former councillor Yashpal Mittal. In another ward, the party has reposed faith in Gaje Singh Saini, instead of Naresh Rohilla, who has opened a front against the party.

The party may face revolt in Ward No. 20, from where it has given ticket to Sudhir Yadav, fanning resentment among the supporters of aspirant Satish Gurjar. Sources said the party might change the candidate in Ward No. 5, from where it has declared Subhash Kashyap as its candidate. However, Jagmohan Anand, district president, said he could not comment on it.

He claimed there was no resentment among party workers and all was well in it. “No worker is angry over ticket distribution. We will pacify if anyone is agitated,” Anand said.
