Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Sushil Gupta announced the setting up of a traders’ wing in the state. He alleged that the state government has failed to come up with trader-friendly policies.
“Traders in Haryana are not feeling secure as the law and order situation is not right. Besides, government officials also harass them on one pretext or the other. Industrial units like Maruti and many pesticide units have shifted from Haryana. No investment is coming to the state,” he alleged while interacting with the media here on Thursday.

Gupta, hailing from Shamlo Kalan village in Jind district, said that AAP Vyapar Sangathan would have units at the district level across the state. The RS member said, “We will not tolerate harassment and the party’s traders wing will strongly stand by the victim.”

Gupta said that while the other traders’ bodies work as government agents, the AAP’s traders’ body has been fighting against its own government in Delhi to protect the interests of the traders.

Gupta said that Haryana has failed to progress on expected lines after its formation as a separate state. “I have noticed that my native village has almost similar facilities as compared to decades ago when my family migrated from the village to Delhi.”

He said that AAP has been preparing for the Lok Sabha and Assembly polls in the state. “The electorate of Haryana has seen caste politics over the years which have failed to improve the condition of the people,” he said.

He added that the BJP government had been inviting investment from oversees into the state but the atmosphere has not been conductive for investment as even the local traders were shying away from expanding their businesses after the violence during the Jat agitation
