Govt playing tricks over withdrawal of Jat stir cases’


The All India Jat Aarakshan Sangharsh Samiti (AIJASS) has accused the Haryana government of playing tricks over the issue of withdrawing cases against the youths who were booked for arson and violence during the Jat agitation for reservation in February 2016.

Speaking to mediapersons at Hisar on Thursday, AIJASS Haryana spokesperson Ram Bhagat Malik alleged that state chief secretary had written to the DCs of all districts to withdraw cases against Jat youths, but nothing had been done in that regard. He accused the state government of not pleading for the quota to Jats under the OBC category in apex court.

Malik said AIJASS would hold a meeting on Sunday in Jassia village of Rohtak district to discuss the course of action against the government’s betrayal with the community. “We will start a statewide agitation for our demands from August 16, and the roadmap or which will be finalized during the Jassia meeting,” he said.
