Harera orders freeze on sale of property in Greenopolis project
GURUGRAM: The Haryana real estate regulatory authority (Harera) on Thursday issued directions barring the sale or alienation of any unsold inventory or land within Greenopolis project in Sector 89. The decision came after the authority heard the grievances of the buyers during a hearing.

The authority also directed developers Orris Infrastructure and Three C Shelters Private Limited to identify an independent surveyor for assessing the status of the project, officials said.

The project has 29 towers with

1,850 apartments of different sizes spread across 47 acres.

“Directions issued by Harera would be followed in letter and spirit. We want the authority to ensure that all the stakeholders are asked to fulfil commitments made by them,” said an Orris spokesperson.

On Thursday morning, 200 disgruntled homebuyers of Greenopolis project held a protest at the Harera office against the developers for delaying the project.

Buyers said that this project was launched in 2012 and it was to be delivered in 2015, but the developer was not delivering the purchased apartments despite 90% payment being made by them.

Ravi Prasad, president of Greenopolis Welfare Association, “We requested Harera to prevent alienation of property by developers, and appointment of an independent surveyor for assessing the work. Most of us have paid

90% of the money, but only 60% of the work has been completed.”

Prasad said after their protest, Harera chairman conducted a hearing of their case.

Harera officials said they have issued directions to the developer not to sell any inventory in the project, and also submit a record of the status of the project. “The authority heard the matter today and asked the promoters and the buyers’ association to identify a surveyor, who could assess the project status in terms of financials, inventory, receivables and all data, which is required to find a solution,” said an official requesting anonymity
