Chandigarh, July 11

The recruitment to over 38,000 Class IV posts in the state is set to be delayed, causing disappointment to lakhs of job aspirants.
With the Haryana Government directing all departments to issue a fresh requisition of all Group D posts directly to the Haryana Staff Selection Commission(HSSC) in accordance with provisions of Haryana Group D Employees (Recruitment and Conditions of Service) Act 2018, the process to complete recruitment will take time.
“Since the HSSC was already ‘over-burdened” with non-gazetted recruitments in the pre-election year, the process to recruit Class IV employees would take considerable time,” a senior official said here on Wednesday.
The recruitment to Class IV has been proving to be a Herculean task for the successive state governments, including the previous Congress government headed by Bhupinder Singh Hooda as there was no transparent institutional mechanism in place.
While there is an institutional mechanism for the recruitment to Class I, II and III posts, ad hocism ruled the roost in the recruitment to Class IV jobs that were mostly recruited under the supervision of district-level officials with nepotism being a norm.
