ASK THE SEXPERT
DR MAHINDER WATSA

1 I am a 21-year-old man. I had got herpes on the thighs — near the genital area — two years ago. Recently, I got it again. I have not been in sexual contact with any women till date. What could be the reason for contracting herpes virus?

Visit a skin specialist to confirm the diagnosis. There must have been some contact with a positive person. The skin specialist will suggest how it can be controlled. Unfortunately, there is no treatment to cure it but medication is available to keep it suppressed for long periods.

2 I am a 25-year-old woman. I have had sex with my boyfriend many times, but now I am getting married to a man of my family’s choice. I don’t want my husband to know about my past. Is that even possible?

That’s unfortunate. To save your marriage you may have to fall back on the fact that the hymen can split in many ways. For example, insertion of a finger into the vagina or athletics. The repair of the hymen is known to be carried out by some gynecologists. But it is ironic that the procedure would have to be broken within a few days, during the honeymoon.

3 I am an 18-year-old man. I probably masturbate four to five times a day. I know it is excessive, but if I see a very attractive woman I get an erection and I begin to masturbate. Please tell how to stop this. My penis is curved towards the left. Will it affect my future sex life?

You are not much of a man, if you cannot have control over your sexual feelings. The curvature of the penis is of no consequence if the curvature is less than 30 degrees. You can insert your penis into the vagina.
